Hi, I’m Falko 👋🏾

Co-founder of Compagnon Agency & specializing in the intersection between web design and development.

Computers have always intrigued me, ever since I was a kid.

I remember my parents bringing home a computer for the first time with Windows 95, and I was fascinated by it. I started learning how to use it, and later on, how to build things with it.

Origin

Back in 2006 when I was 12, I first got into coding by making homebrew apps for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). I didn’t really know what I was doing at the time, but I was having a lot of fun. Sometimes I even managed to make something that worked.

I fooled around with C++, LUA, Adobe Flash and made mini-websites optimized for the PSP’s small screen. The latter was my first introduction to web development.

Later on in highschool I applied these skills to build apps for my TI 84 calculator to help me with my math homework. This helped me understand the basics of programming and how to solve problems with code.

During this time something clicked and I realized that I wanted to do something with computers for a living.

Career

I started my professional career as a product designer at several start-ups back in their early stages:

Today

In 2018 I co-founded a web design agency Compagnon where we help businesses and start-ups with their online presence. I work on a wide variety of projects, but I mainly focus on WordPress development and Node.js.

Bio

📍 I live in a small but lovely city in Belgium 🇧🇪 called Bruges.

In my free time, I like to spend time with my dog, going for a swim and working on side projects. I also enjoy watching movies and tracking them on Letterboxd.
